cancellation policy

Last updated 7 October 2026

This Cancellation Policy explains how cancellations and refunds work on Tikozetu. As a marketplace connecting organisers with attendees, some details may vary by event, but this policy sets the standard framework and the protections buyers can rely on. Always check the event page for any clearer organiser terms before you buy.

overview

Organisers may publish event-specific cancellation details. Those details can apply when they are clearer for buyers and do not weaken the core organiser-cancel and postpone protections described below. Otherwise, this policy is the default.

Important: Attendees cannot cancel for change of mind or because they cannot attend and receive a refund under this policy.

who can cancel

Organisers and attendees have different rights:

  • Organisers may cancel or postpone an event before it starts and should provide reasonable notice when possible. Reasons may include venue issues, safety concerns, or circumstances beyond their control.
  • Attendees cannot obtain a refund for change of mind or inability to attend. Attendee-initiated refunds are not offered under this policy except where an organiser’s published event terms expressly grant a clearer right that does not conflict with these platform rules. The default remains non-refundable for change of mind.

when the organiser cancels

If an organiser cancels an event, you are entitled to a refund of the ticket face value. Tikozetu platform or service fees are not refunded.

Where available, we notify affected buyers by email and/or through their account. Tikozetu helps process refunds through the platform and support. Timing depends on the payment provider.

when an event is postponed

If an event is postponed rather than cancelled, you may:

  • Keep your ticket for the new date.
  • Request a refund of the ticket face value if the new date does not work for you (platform fees are not refunded).
  • Transfer the ticket only if the organiser expressly allows transfers.

how to request a refund

Email support@tikozetu.com with your order or ticket details and the reason (organiser cancellation or postponement).

Once we have what we need, we will confirm next steps and expected timing. Refund requests for change of mind or inability to attend will be declined under this policy.

refund timeline

Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method where possible.

As a general guide only (not a guarantee): card refunds often take several business days after approval; mobile money is often faster; bank transfers may take longer. Exact timing depends on your provider.

fees

When a refund applies under this policy, only the ticket face value is returned.

Tikozetu platform or service fees are not refunded. Payment processing charges charged by third parties may not be recoverable.

non-refundable cases

Unless an organiser cancel or postpone situation applies (or an express organiser event term as described above), the following are not refundable:

  • Change of mind.
  • Inability to attend.
  • Choosing the wrong ticket type.
  • Sharing or losing a ticket.
  • Any other case outside the cancel and postpone rules in this policy.

special circumstances

Events may be affected by extraordinary circumstances such as natural disasters, pandemics, government restrictions, venue closure, or safety concerns. In those cases, handling follows organiser cancellation or postponement under this policy and applicable law.

Documented emergencies may be considered case by case together with the organiser. That is not a guaranteed attendee refund right for change of mind or ordinary inability to attend.

disputes

If you believe a refund was wrongly denied, delayed beyond a reasonable provider timeline, or paid in an incorrect amount, contact support@tikozetu.com. We will review the case and work with the organiser toward a fair resolution.
